VoIP
(Voice Over Internet Protocol) and VPN Solution
– for Corporate and Multinationals
with high volume usage on International
and National calls.
PROMINENT ISP’S IN PARTNERSHIP
WITH DIAL THRU INTERNATIONAL (Rapid Link)
Soon after the announcement of the Minister
of Telecommunications that VANS may carry
voice over the internet from 1 Feb 2005,
a partnership was formed between Dial
Thru International and prominent First
Tier Internet Service Providrs to work
together on providing VoIP (Voice over
Internet Protocol) solutions for corporate
customers. By capitalizing upon the benefits
derived from the new legislation –
Rapid Link’s experience with VoIP will
place it in the lead within the South
African Telecommunications industry.
By creating VPN’s with two ISP’s,
both with an excellent ISP backbone in
South Africa, and both being ahead in
the market working with data, Rapid Link offer’s
it’s VPN customers added value by
not keeping all their eggs in one basket.
By combining forces in the new VoIP market,
each stakeholder will be able to focus
on its own area of expertise, with the
sum total of the combined efforts being
the best VoIP solution to Rapid Link’s
prospective VoIP and VPN customers.
Find below a diagram of Rapid Link’s WAN,
satellite and fibre setup.

Rapid Link offers an extensive national Multi
Protocol Label Switched (MPLS) infrastructure,
a network based VPN, to provide the highest
possible network performance at the most
effective cost. Both ISP’s, as first
tier Network Solution Providers, offer
a wide range of network solutions including;
• Any-to-Any Extranet Connectivity.
• QoS (Quality of Service),
• End-to-End Service Level Agreements
(SLA),
• Security Solutions,
By replacing expensive private network
bandwidth that often remains under-utilised
with managed VPN bandwidth a company lowers
the total cost of ownership and simplifies
communication.
Rapid Link is proposing a solution for the provision
of an economical, robust and highly reliable
national infrastructure for the transport
of WAN voice & data traffic.

Rapid Link’s approach to the new playing
field that VoIP challenges will offer
in South Africa will be to allow it’s
VoIP Specialists to work closely with
each prospective customer, allowing them
to assess what each customer’s unique
set-up is, and then customizing the VoIP
solution accordingly, ultimately offering
the most cost effective solution –
not only on the ultimate call costs –
but also on the initial set up costs.
